LOS ANGELES, California –
Colin Monaghan is going to the national championship. The Puget Sound men's cross country senior placed 12
th out of 170 runners in the NCAA D-III West Regional Championship at Occidental Saturday morning.

Monaghan crossed the finish line in 25:13.6 – less than 30 seconds off from the leader. Pomona-Pitzer won the regional championship as a team, meaning each of its runners automatically qualifies for nationals. This pushes Monaghan into the top-seven in the West Region.

Puget Sound freshman
Ben Kerr also ran in the West Regional Championship. He timed in at 27:05.7, good for 70
th overall.

The NCAA D-III Championship is Nov. 20 in Louisville, Kentucky. It will be Monaghan's third-career appearance on the national stage.
