Monaghan crossed the finish line in 25:13.6 – less than 30 seconds off from the leader. Pomona-Pitzer won the regional championship as a team, meaning each of its runners automatically qualifies for nationals. This pushes Monaghan into the top-seven in the West Region.

Puget Sound freshman Ben Kerr also ran in the West Regional Championship. He timed in at 27:05.7, good for 70th overall.

The NCAA D-III Championship is Nov. 20 in Louisville, Kentucky. It will be Monaghan's third-career appearance on the national stage.
