Women's swimming poses second win this time against Linfield

TACOMA, Wash. – Puget Sound women's swimming came away Saturday with a big win against pre-season, Northwest Conference favorite, Linfield, in its dual meet with a score of 107-97. The Logger men also battled the Wildcats before finishing just three points behind with a score of 100-103.  

The Logger women secured its first win early finishing just ahead of Linfield in the 200-yard medley relay. Maddy Brennan and Holly Zipay then took first and second respectively in the 200-yard freestyle. The next event earned Puget Sound another 13 points when Amy Madsen and Elinor Glass finished one and two in the 50-yard freestyle. Brennan added to the point total winning the 100-yard butterfly, and Madsen took first place in the 100-yard freestyle event. Glass finished out the meet with another top finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Other notable second place finishes for the Loggers were freshman Kass McLennan for the 100-yard backstroke, and Sara Guillen in the 1,650-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard freestyle relay team.

Emory Burden captured the first top finish for the Logger men in the 100-yard butterfly, followed by Will Cabana in the 100-yard backstroke, and Elijah Grinstead in the 100-yard breaststroke. The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team edged out Linfield to cap the afternoon's races. Puget Sound also put up critical points in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, and the 100-yard backstroke and breaststroke events. 

The Loggers will be back on the racing blocks on Saturday, Nov. 11th when Puget Sound will host a non-conference meet.
