Puget Sound golf teams kick off the season in Pacific Invitational

QUAIL VALLEY GOLF COURSE, Ore.  The Puget Sound men's and women's golf teams completed the two-day Pacific Invitational this past weekend. The Logger men placed seventh as a team, and the Logger women finished fifth. 

The women performed well, with 3-of-5 competitors placing in the top 20 at the invite. Sophomore, Kaila Bonawitz, was a leading golfer and tied for fifth place overall by shooting a 164 between two rounds. Following close behind, freshman Kira Goode tied for ninth place overall, shooting 170 between two rounds. 

For the men, junior Ethan Baker stepped up to lead the team, tying for 17th place overall, shooting a 152 between the two rounds. Jack Kuntz tied for the 21st spot shooting a 154, and Andrew Spitzer followed one stroke behind with a 155, tying for 24th place.

The Loggers head back to Oregon this weekend, playing in the Linfield Invitational at Michelbrook Country Club, Sept. 24-25. Goodluck Loggers!!
