SPOKANE, Wash. – The
Puget Sound women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss at Whitworth University in a non-conference match on Sunday. The Loggers won one in doubles play and one in singles matches.
The Puget Sound Loggers duo of
Kaylee Yamada and
Krishna Agrawal won 8-6 in No. 1 doubles to defeat Gracie Smyley and Clara Todd.
Agrawal continued on to win in the No. 4 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-4 to take down Morgan McArthur. Yamada came close in singles matches losing by a small margin of 7-5 and 6-3.
Marissa Perez fell in No. 2 by set scores of 6-0, 6-0, while
Hyla Chatham lost 6-0, 6-1. At No. 5, Sarah Kaczmarek improved but still fell 6-1 and 6-4. The Loggers had to forfeit singles No. 6.
The women's tennis team will have another chance to defeat Whitworth University in conference play at home on Friday, February 23, at 4 p.m. in the Tennis Pavilion.
