TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's tennis team fell to a 9-0 loss to Whitworth University on Friday after a 7-2 loss last week.
Kaylee Yamada and
Krishna Agrawal were the closest in No. 1 doubles losing by a margin of 8-5 to Gracie Smyley and Clara Todd.
Marissa Perez and
Hyla Chatham finished in an 8-3 loss in No. 2 doubles, while
Laura Schneidman and
Zoe Richter lost 8-2.
In singles No. 1 Yamada went to three sets, only losing by 7-5, 6-3, 10-7 to Smyley. Perez fell in No. 2 by set scores of 6-1, 6-1, while Chatham lost 6-0, 6-1. Agrawal lost 6-4, 7-5 in a close match against Jordan Turner-Esposito at No. 4 singles. At No. 5, Schneidman improved, but still fell 6-4 and 6-1.
Ella Parker lost in No. 6 singles with scores of 6-4. 6-1.
The Logger women's tennis team will be off for two weeks and return on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. in the Tennis Pavilion.
