FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Puget Sound men's and women's swimming teams complete day two of the Northwest Conference Championships with medals in all four categories at Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center on Friday night.
Will Cabana tied a 2010 Puget Sound school record by Jackson Kowalski's in the 100-yard backstroke leg of the 400-medley relay with a time of 50.69.
Senior
Ethan Schwartz started off the night with a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:41.60. Freshman
Emory Burden swam to a second place finish in the 50-free with a time of 20.60, just .46 seconds slower than the top finish by Whitworth University. Cabana grabbed a third place finish in the 200-individual medley swimming in at 1:54.71. The medley relay team of Cabana,
Elijah Grinstead,
Cam Aaselund, and Burden swam in at 3:24.14 for a second place finish.
Sara Guillen impressed with a second place finish in the 500-free with a time of 5:05.39. Then,
Maddy Brennan claimed a second place finish in the 200-IM with a swift time of 2:07.61, just .35 seconds behind the first place finish by Whitworth.
Elinor Glass finished third in the 50-free with a time of 24.11, a .30 second difference to the first place finish by Whitman College. The Logger women's 400-medley relay comprised of
Amy Madsen, Glass, Brennan, and Guillen finished in 3:57.02 coming in second place.
The Loggers complete day two of a four-day Championship hosted by Pacific University, the Northwest Conference Swimming Championship continues tomorrow, Feb. 10, preliminaries will start with the men's 400-IM at 9:30 a.m. Watch the meet
