TACOMA, Wash. — The Loggers brought home their second consecutive Lamberth Cup today, defeating Pacific Lutheran University in back-to-back years for the first time 2016. The Varsity 8+ with

Sydney Maysmith,
Becca Murphy,
Austyn Smith,
Lily Steller,
Madeline Johnson, and bow
Luci Reed led from the start, and finished with a time of 7:27.0 to claim the cup. PLU finished with a time of 8:03.0.
Both crews returned to the water to race in two 4's heats. Puget Sound's 4+ of
Skylar Reynolds at cox and a stroke of Lambert-Mullen,
Claudia Luthy,
Sydney Maysmith, and
Austyn Smith won their heat with a time of 8:14.4, followed by the Puget Sound 4+ of
McKenna Kalkbrenner at cox and
Violet Baker,
Alexia Gunderson,
Konalani Kamaka for stroke and
Luci Reed in the bow, finishing with a time of 8:41.3. The Lutes finished with a time of 9:41.5. Finally, in the second heat of 4's with
Fran Dadulla,
Zorah Freiwald,
Mariko Uemura,
Xiao Miao Atlansky, and
Jasmine Whitley finished second with a time of 9:45.5, defeating one PLU crew, while falling to another.
The Tacoma community praises Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound for the decades-long tradition of racing in the Lamberth Cup, promising continued legacy for generations to come.
