NEWBERG, Ore. – Freshman Cade Streeter led for the Loggers with an 8th place finish and the Puget Sound men's golf team finished seventh overall at the George Fox Invitational this weekend tying with Pacific University with a 623 stroke score.
On Saturday, Drew Spitzer broke even on the 71-par course along with three other competitors who scored the same. Linfields Douglas Bailey had a 69-stroke day to score two below par and grab the win. Cade Streeter scored three over par with 74-strokes on the course to tie for 12th place. The Loggers scored sixth out of eight teams with a total of 23 strokes over par on day one.
Spitzer began to struggle on Sunday, scoring eight over par and landing in 17th place, but Streeter improved finishing the second day with 72-strokes, the best score from the Loggers. George Fox had the top score with 140 strokes across two days, however, Willamette finished in first place overall.
