Varsity Eight takes third in Puget Sound Invite

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – The Logger women's crew team went head-to-head against two local Division I teams in this Saturday's Logger Invite Regatta. The Varsity 8+ of Skylar Reynolds, Amalina Lambert-Mullen, Claudia Luthy, Sydney Maysmith, Violet Baker, Becca Murphy, Lily Steller, Austyn Smith, and Luci Reed placed third with a time of 8:04.8 in their race against University of Portland and Seattle University. University of Portland won the heat with a time of 7:43.0, and Seattle University beat the Loggers in a close race with a time of 8:01.0. 

The second Varsity 8+ of Fran Dadulla, Maddie Johnson, Lexi Gunderson, Kona Kamaka, Zorah Freiwald, Mariko Uemura, Naomi Norton, Jasmine Whitley, and  Xiao Miao Atlansky also finished third in their heat with a time of 9:31.8. University of Portland's time was 8:11.0, and Seattle University finished with a time of 8:41.8. 

Next weekend, the Loggers travel down to Vancouver Lake to compete against division rivals at the Pioneer Invite Regatta. Puget Sound will be racing Lewis & Clark College, Pacific Lutheran University, and Pacific University, as well as D-I and D-II crews on April 6, 2024.
