TACOMA, Wash. (June 28, 2024) - The University of Puget Sound Men's & Women's Swim teams were both named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2024 Semester.
In order to qualify for this honor, teams must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above during the Spring 2024 semester. The women's team finished the semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.35 and the men's team completed the semester with a 3.25.
Head Coach Jay Daniels was extremely pleased with this accomplishment, noting that this "is a significant improvement on years past. It is so exciting that our performance in the pool and our performance in the classroom is aligning - and it's a great example to set for the large number of incoming first-years." He praised his teams for their ability not only to excel in the classroom, Â but also be involved in their campus community simultaneously - in Greek life, various clubs, and other personal interests.
Logger Swimming will be gaining a total of 20 freshmen this fall, eight on the women's team and 12 on the men's team.
