NEWBERG, Oregon (September 23, 2024) - Logger Men's Tennis performed strongly at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) regional championships. Eight teams come together from the Northwest Conference to crown an All-American in both singles and doubles play. In recent history, Head Tennis Coach Matt Simons can't recall ever receiving a #3 seed, which is exactly what
Jason Rowe was granted. Unfortunately, he lost in the quarterfinals, but is beginning to pave the way for more success for Logger Tennis.
Both Rowe and
Will Church succeeded in winning their consolation draw, and
Matthew Merzbach bested the #1 seed in the B draw.
Additionally,
Reef Gelder won the B draw first round in the consolation singles draw.
The ITA competition was the sole tournament for Logger Tennis this fall, aiding them in their preparation for the spring season, which begins on January 25th at Portland State.
