Logger Golf Begins Fall Season at Lewis & Clark

TUALITIN, Oregon (September 25, 2024) The Puget Sound men's and women's golf program teed off its 2024-25 season this week, competing in the Orange & Black Tournament at the Tualatin Country Club.  

Hosted by Lewis & Clark, the tournament featured 11 men's teams and eight women's teams representing the Northwest Conference schools as well as other non-conference opponents.  

On the men's side, the team finished in ninth place overall over the two-day event. Leading all Loggers was Charlie Terwilliger who jumped up 15 spots on day two finishing in 15th place (+4). Cade Streeter also showed improvement on the second day finishing in 19th place with a score of +6. Rounding out the field for Puget Sound was Drew Spitzer (19th), Zavier Feasey-Allenn (54th), and Michael Baker (68th). Redlands captured the tournament with a team score of +4.   

For the women, Kira Goode showed consistency over the two days to lead all Loggers tying for ninth place overall with a score of +19. Senior Kaila Bonawitz had an impressive first day performance holding the third place spot before struggling in day two to finish in 26th place. The results of three remaining Loggers of Cayton Smith (37th), Makayla Kearney (38th), and Francesca Brinkman (39th) brought a sixth place finish for Puget Sound's first event of the season. Redlands finished first in the field as a team with a total score of +61.

The Loggers are set to host the Puget Sound Fall Invitational on October 5-6, 2024. The event will take place at Lakeview Country Club at Soap Lake, WA.
