Loggers Conclude Play at NWC Fall Classic

| By:
LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- The Loggers competed in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic this weekend, finishing in ninth place at Oswego Lake CC in tough weather conditions.

How it Happened
Day 1
Andrew Spitzer had the round of the day in the first round, starting off with a birdie and never looking back. A smooth 1-under 34 on the back nine saw him put together a 71 (E), leading the way for the Loggers. Cade Streeter and Charlie Stephens also shot in the 70s, with Streeter recording a smooth 75 (+4) with a team-high four birdies, and Stephens a 79 (+8) with an eight-par front nine.

Zavier Feasey-Allen rounded out the scoring four, shooting an 84 (+13), while Michael Baker highlighted his day with a birdie on hole 10, shooting an 88 (+17).

Day 2
The Loggers faced tough conditions on the second day, with the wind swirling around the tall douglas firs. Spitzer was the best finisher on day two, putting together his second round in the 70s with a 79 (+8). After battling hard through the first 10 holes, he put together a bogey-free one under in his final eight to close out the weekend strong.

Feasey-Allen and Baker both improved on their day-one scores, with Feasey-Allen recording an 80 (+9), and Baker shooting an 81 (+10). Both had solid stretches in the middle of their rounds, improving by four and seven strokes, respectively.  Streeter finished his day with a birdie on the par-5 18th, coming in with an 81 (+10). Stephens rounded out the scoring with an 86 (+15).

Coach's Thoughts
"Everyone in the field had the same conditions, and it seemed like we were the team that let it get to us," said Logger head coach Conner Robbins. "We have some work to do, and we're looking to turn things around next weekend. Something needs to change, so I'm hoping they get a spark and end the fall season strong."

The Loggers head to the Confluence Classic in Walla Walla, Wash., on October 19th and 20th.
