TACOMA, Washington (February 1, 2025) — Logger Womens' tennis kicked off their spring season this morning against the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Logger duos got off to a fast start, but ultimately fell 0-3 to the Banana Slugs.
Krishna Agrawal and
Hyla Chatham, the final duo on the court, battled hard but ultimately fell 4-6.
UC Santa Cruz also swept the Loggers in singles play. However, senior captain
Paige Shinall nearly pulled out a win at No. 2 singles. Shinall held her own in the first set, taking it to seven games before falling 5-7 and 3-6, marking the final match of the day.
Head coach Matt Simons praised the team's hard work and expressed pride in their effort. He's excited for the upcoming conference play, which begins tomorrow.
The Loggers will face Whitman at 1 p.m. in the tennis pavilion.
