FOREST GROVE, Oregon (February 15, 2025) – The Logger women's tennis team (0-2, 0-1 NWC) faced a tough test on the road against Pacific University (2-0, 1-0 NWC) but were unable to come away with a win, falling 7-0. Despite several hard-fought matches, the Boxers proved too strong across the board.
Pacific came out dominant in doubles, sweeping all three matches to secure the opening point.
Kaylee Yamada and
Paige Shinall put up a fight at the top doubles spot but were outmatched, falling 6-0. Kiran Agrawal and Hannah Chatham also struggled to gain momentum, dropping their match by the same score.
Pearl Buck and
Zoe Hughes showed resilience at No. 3 but ultimately fell 6-1.
The singles matches saw Pacific continue their strong play, winning all six matches in straight sets. Yamada had a tough matchup at No. 1, dropping her match 6-0, 6-0. Shinall at No. 2 put in a solid effort but fell by the same scoreline. Agrawal and Chatham competed hard but couldn't turn the tide, both falling in two sets.
Zoe Richters and Grace Parkers looked to break through at No. 5 and No. 6, each winning some key points but ultimately losing their matches.
Despite the loss, Head Coach Matt Simon noted he saw big progress and improvements in the women's game and the team is ready for their next match tomorrow against Willamette.
