Loggers Fight Hard at Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound track and field team put together another solid showing over the weekend, with standout performances across multiple disciplines, including first-place finishes and podium placements.

In the sprints, Kyrstin Wilson blazed her way to victory in the women's 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.00 seconds flat. She later added a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.70s. Erin Schmidlin secured another top finish for the Loggers, winning the women's 800-meter run in 2:19.63, while Lydia Cocciolone (2:27.42) and Brooklyn Gildersleeve-Stiles (2:32.11) finished fifth and seventh place, respectively. 

The Loggers' relay teams also delivered strong results. The women's 4x100 relay team of Rivas, Beiswanger, Bradshaw, and Wilson secured a third-place finish. On the men's side, Damasiewicz, Boyea-Quiton, Brogan Murphy, and Matthew Hannah combined for a third-place finish in the 4x100 relay. The women's 4x400 relay team of Cocciolone, Gildersleeve-Stiles, Nelson, and Schmidlin also finished third. 

On the track, the distance runners kept pace with the competition. Claire Mullen placed third in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 19:07.12, while Dillon Yell and Cian Monaghan finished fourth (4:08.41) and sixth (4:08.98) in the men's 1500-meter run. 

The hurdles and steeplechase events saw steady performances from Puget Sound athletes as well.  Nelson took fifth in the women's 400-meter hurdles (1:12.18), while Reublin-Geer placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (16.02). In the steeplechase, Beck finished fifth in the women's 3000-meter event at 12:34.77, and Kreimer secured eighth place in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:33.93.

Field events featured notable efforts as well. Goeglein shined in the throws, securing second place in both the men's discus (43.95m) and shot put (14.09m). In the men's long jump, Murphy landed in fourth place with a leap of 6.38 meters. On the women's side, Patterson placed fifth in the discus (34.15m), while Saucedo finished fourth in the javelin (29.82m). Wayss recorded a fifth-place finish in the women's hammer throw (41.68m), and  Rees took eighth in the men's hammer with a mark of 44.52m.

The Loggers remain competitive as they continue their season, building momentum toward upcoming meets.
