Women's Tennis Pushes Past Highline

TACOMA, Wash. — In a dominant showing at home, the University of Puget Sound women's tennis team earned a 5–2 victory over Highline College.

The Loggers took early control by winning all of the three doubles matches, setting the tone for a confident performance in singles play. The top doubles pair of Kaylee Yamada and Paige Shinall topped Sophia Crosby and Olivia Russon, 6-0, but the Loggers bounced back quickly. The duos of Hyla Chatham and Pearl Buck (6–3) and Krisha Agrawal and Zoey Hughes (6–1) posted commanding wins to secure the doubles points.

In singles, Puget Sound secured four wins out of six matchups. Krisha Agrawal delivered a gutsy three-set win at the No. 1 spot, but fell to Highline's Crosby. Chatham followed with a gritty performance at No. 2, outlasting Buchan in a third-set tiebreaker, 6–3, 2–6, 16-14. Buck made quick work of Adrianna Barbee at the No. 3 slot, cruising to a 6–1, 7–6 win.

Highline picked up its only singles wins at positions four and six.

Puget Sound plays their final matches of conference regular season play versus Whitworth, this Sunday at 12:00 in Tacoma.
