AZUSA, Calif. — The University of Puget Sound track and field team put together a memorable performance at the Azusa Pacific Franson Last Chance Meet, with three athletes delivering standout results this afternoon.
Lizzie Beiswanger etched her name into the record books, finishing eighth in the women's 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 55.17 seconds. That mark not only set a new Puget Sound school record but also propelled Beiswanger to No. 11 nationally in NCAA Division III. Her performance solidified her status as one of the top 400-meter runners in the country.
On the men's side,
Avery Keith continued his stellar season with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash. Keith clocked a personal-best 47.43 seconds, a performance that elevated him to No. 27 nationally. His effort showcased his ability to compete against top talent, firmly establishing him as a contender on the national stage.
Meanwhile,
Kyrstin Wilson added another chapter to her remarkable season. Wilson finished 13th in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 24.56 seconds. That performance broke her own school record in the event and improved her national ranking to No. 36. Wilson's consistent ability to reset her own records is a testament to her dedication and talent.
The Loggers' trio of Beiswanger, Keith, and Wilson have consistently raised the standard for Puget Sound track and field this season. With their recent performances, they have not only made history but also positioned themselves as serious contenders heading into the national championships.
