Puget Sound Athletics Climbs to Fourth in NWC All-Sports Trophy Standings

TACOMA, Wash. – The University of Puget Sound Athletics Department achieved a significant milestone during the 2024–25 academic year, finishing fourth in the Northwest Conference (NWC) McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy standings. The Loggers jumped four spots from last year's eighth-place finish, showcasing multiple teams' impressive rise through the conference ranks.

The McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy is awarded annually to the NWC institution that earns the most points based on league finishes across all sports. Puget Sound totaled 176 points this year, trailing only Whitworth University (253), George Fox University (246), and Whitman College (214).

Key contributors to the Loggers' surge included both the men's and women's swimming programs, which placed second and third, respectively. Women's basketball added a strong campaign with a tie for third in the league standings. Baseball also enjoyed a breakout season—picked ninth in the preseason poll, the Loggers climbed to a third-place finish and entered the final weekend with a shot at the conference title.

The department's upward trajectory underscores a renewed commitment to competitive excellence, scholar-athlete development, and program-wide growth.
