AZUZA, Calif. –
Kyrstin Wilson continued her remarkable season with a record-breaking performance at the Franson Last Chance Meet this afternoon, setting a new University of Puget Sound record in the women's 100-meter dash. Wilson, a repeat standout sprinter for the Loggers, posted a personal-best time of 11.75 seconds in the preliminary round. That mark not only secured her place in Saturday's semifinals but also likely earned her a spot at the NCAA Division III National Championships.
Wilson's time of 11.75 eclipses the previous school record and further solidifies her status as one of the fastest sprinters in program history. Her performance highlighted an exciting first day of competition for Puget Sound at Azusa Pacific University; she was the only Logger to take to the track today.
Wilson will return to the track tomorrow to compete in the 200-meter dash. She will be joined by her Logger teammates,
Lizzie Beiswanger and
Avery Keith, who will race in the 400 meters.
