NEWBERG, Ore. -- The Loggers concluded their play in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships this weekend, with a pair of Loggers competing in the final day of matches.
Ginger Parker continued to be a highlight for Puget Sound, opening up her day in the Flight B Consolation bracket semifinals. After battling hard against Lewis & Clark's Madison Vianzon, she ultimately dropped her match 6-3, 6-0. Vianzon ended up winning the consolation bracket a match later.
Meredith Friess also played today after beating Willamette's Alicia Sola 6-2, 2-6, 11-9 in an intense match yesterday. This time, in the B Second Round semis, Friess wasn't so lucky. She dropped her match against Pacific's Morgan Wagoner 6-3, 6-3, unfortunately unable to advance to the finals.
The Loggers head home with a solid weekend under their belt, showing tons of grit and proving they can hang with the rest of the Northwest Conference. Despite being done with competitions for the fall, they look towards the spring and the rest of the regular season.
