Goode, Loggers Sit in First Place After Day One of PLU Invite

| By:
DUPONT, Wash. -- Kira Goode leads the way, as the University of Puget Sound sits in first place after the first round of the PLU Invite.

How it Happened
Goode was the lone player to fire a round in the 70s on day one, shooting a 79 (+7) to pace the field. She rattled off two birdies in three holes, including one on the tough par-4 seventh to shoot a 37 on the front nine. Two double-bogeys on the back plagued her round, but she still had a solid finish.

Cayton Smith also played well, finishing with an 85 (+13). She joins Goode in the top five, landing in solo fourth after day one. Elise Muding and Francesca Briniman rounded out the scoring players, both firing a 94 (+22). They mirrored each other's scores, as both of them fired a 47 on the front nine, and a 47 on the back.

Abigail Udlock rounded out the Logger's top five, shooting a 101 (+29). Freshman Raegan Molander was the lone individual for Puget Sound, riffling a 100 (+28) to conclude the Logger's day.

The team currently sits tied for first with Bellevue College, as both teams shot a 352 (+64) at the PLU Invite. The Loggers look to start their season with a win tomorrow, September 30th, with a shotgun start beginning at 9:00 am.
