WALLA WALLA, Wash. - - The University of Puget Sound swim teams dominated Whitman College on Friday, January 23, piling up season and personal bests in a strong performance as the Loggers near the postseason. The men won with a score of 127.5-77.5 and the women secured a 142-62 victory.Â

The Logger men set the tone early, sweeping top finishes across multiple events and showcasing their impressive depth. Anderson Bennett led the way with first-place finishes in both the 200 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke. His winning time of 1:47.51 in the 200 free marked a personal best. Kai Sackreiter followed with a personal record of 1:51.71 to place third.
Puget Sound's distance group delivered standout results in the 1,000 freestyle, led by a Bryce Kirk first-place, season-best effort of 10:38.12. Camden Parsons followed closely in second, touching the wall in a personal-best 10:41.69.
The Loggers continued to rack up strong swims across the lineup, Joel Liu captured first place in the 50 freestyle, while Taro Tsuji followed with a season-best time of 23.85. Gus Rudenick and Logan Cezar each posted season bests in the 100 free, finishing in 51.15 and 51.27. Brendan Kerns added to the momentum with a season-best 2:10.94 in the 200 individual medley.
The Logger women opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay, finishing first with a time of 4:12.22.
Maddy Brennan continued her strong season with wins in the 200 individual medley and the 200 butterfly. Hazel Knight added two season bests on the day, including a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley.
Additional strong performances came across both sprint and distance events. Laleeta Pal won the 1000 freestyle with the time of 11:22.02, while Ayla Rowan followed with a season-best effort to place second. Adi Cosbey-Lewis earned first-place in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in a season best 57.12, and Amelia Mercado added another season-best in the event with the time of 1:00.66. Sophia Lihou continued the Logger success with a season-best swim in the 200 individual medley.

The Loggers' strong showing at Whitman sets the stage for another competitive matchup, as Puget Sound returns to action on Saturday, January 24, against Northwest Conference rival Whitworth, starting at 1 PM.
