TACOMA, Wash. - - The University of Puget Sound Swimming teams capped off their dual meet season on Saturday, with a sweep over cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran University. The Logger women took down the Lutes 158-99, the men with a 161-90 victory.

How it Happened

The Logger women showed their depth early and often. Maddy Brennan was a force in the water, claiming individual titles in the 100 individual medley, the 200 individual medley, and the 100 butterfly.

Freshman Laleeta Pal also turned in a strong performance with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 5:30.67. The Loggers continued with Ayla Rowan winning the 200 freestyle and Holly Zipay taking the top spot in the 100 freestyle. Lelia Ollenburg added a win in the 500 free and a narrow second-place finish in the 100, just behind Zipay.

The 100 backstroke saw Harper McGuire take the top spot, followed closely by Sophia Lihou. In the 200 butterfly, Daphne Khong was in a league of her own, keeping the field by over three seconds to clock a 2:17 finish.

Sam Lyon continued his speedy day by winning the 200 individual medley (1:59.14) and taking second in the 50 freestyle (12.97). Emory Burden swept the sprint events with wins in the 50 freestyle (21.29) and contributing to a win in the 200 freestyle relay.

Additional Logger victories came in waves, starting with Liam Tudor in the 100 individual medley and Brandon Tsang's finish in the 100 backstroke. In the longer events, Anderson Bennett (200 free) and Kevin Flannery (200 breast) both claimed top spots, while Bryce Kirk delivered a standout 1:58.74 in the 200 butterfly. Gavin Legere further padded the lead with a win in the 500 freestyle, keeping the momentum high for Puget Sound.

The meet opened and closed with powerful relay performances. The men's 200 medley relay team of Tsang, Bennett, Lyon, and Burden took first with a time of 1:33.98. While the Logger men later secured a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:27.03), the women's "A" team of Ollenburg, Adi Cosbey-Lewis, Zipay, and Amy Madsen closed out the meet with a hard fought second-place finish in their medley relay (1:54.33).
