SALEM, Ore -- After taking last week off, Puget Sound gets a good look at Oak Knoll Golf Course - the course hosting the Northwest Conference Championships on Halloween.
How it Happened
The Men's team kicked things off in a stacked field, one full of top DI, DII and DIII competition. The Loggers ran ahead of their projected position to start the season, finishing as the 5th fastest NWC team in the field.
Noah Larsen led the way once again, as the Sophomore ran a time of 25:06.4 to place 61st.
Another Noah,
Noah Brown, was right behind Larsen, running a personal-best time of 25:45.3 to finish just outside of the top-100.
Ian Cook was right beside Brown as they crossed the finish line at the exact same time. The pair placed T-101st overall, finishing second and third for the Loggers.
Ethan Chesire was just over 15 seconds behind Brown and Cook, also running a personal-best time of 26:00.7.
Emerson Ingraham was just behind Chesire, placing 133rd with a time of 26:04.0. Senior
Tdohasan Sunray continues to run better every week, running a time of 26:10.4. That time is the best of his career, running in a good pack with Chesire and Ingraham.
Dominic Turner rounded out the scoring seven with a personal best of 26:51.8.
David Palmieri (27:07.7) and
Ben Johnson (28:22.1) concluded the runners for the Loggers.
On the women's side, the team placed 14th overall in an equally stacked field as the men's team. They finished as the third-fastest NWC team - a great sign heading into the NWC Championships in two weeks. Last year, the Loggers finished in 4th, but are now in a great position to move up a spot in the NWC rankings.
Senior
Erin Schmidlin led the way for the Loggers this week, running a personal-best time of 22:23.3. She beat out her previous best time of 22:34.7 by over 10 seconds, and is running in top form in the heart of the Loggers' season. She finished her day in 57th as the 12th-fastest NWC individual runner.
Samantha Palm ran her way into second on the team, finishing in 121st with a time of 23:38.0. Four Loggers finished in a tight pack, as

Avery Bahr,
Emily Moore, and
Hanna Cortright all placed 129th-132nd. Cocciolone and Bahr both crossed the line in 23:50.7, with Moore finishing in 23:50.9. Cortright was also right there, finishing with a time of 23:51.1. Both Bahr and Cortright crossed the line in the best times of their young Logger careers, as the pair of freshmen both recorded Personal Bests.
