WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Men's Golf concludes their fall season at the Confluence Classic, improving by 11 strokes on day two to finish in 6th place.
How it Happened
The Loggers kicked off the tournament at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Club, a tree-lined and technical course through and through. Milo Stover played one of his best rounds of the fall season, firing a 72 (E) to lead the Logger scoring. Birdies on 1, 13, 15, and 16 helped boost his round, finishing strong to get back to even par. A 3-under closing six holes placed him in 11th after day one, shooting the best round of the weekend for Puget Sound.
Cade Streeter continued to piece together consistent rounds, firing a 76 (+4) on day one. He got off to a great start, using birdies on holes 8 and 12 to start even-par through the first 12 holes. Despite a couple of big numbers down the stretch, his four-over finish still saw the second-best Logger round of the day.
Preston Kieschnik and Jackson Dorlarque both shot in the 70s as well, carding 79s (+7) to close out the scoring. Kieschnik concluded his round with five straight pars, finishing with a 39 (+3) on the back. Dorlarque was consistent throughout the day, as birdies on holes 1 and 11 brought him back into the 70s. Michael Baker concluded the Logger golfers with an 85 (+15).
On day two, the team made the trek to Wine Valley Golf Club - one of the top public golf courses in Washington. Nearly every golfer improved, with Streeter and Kieschnik leading the way with 73s (+1). Streeter played phenomenally throughout the day, carding five birdies to work his way back into the round. A 10 (+5) on hole 10 was the only thing that held him back, as he shot 4-under on the remaining 17 holes.
Kieschnik was great for the Loggers as well, finishing his weekend with no double-bogeys across 36 holes. He started his second round two-under through five, with birdies on holes 3 and 4 getting him going early. He added birdies on 7 and 14, closing his round with a 73 (+1). Stover was the top Logger finisher, finishing T-14th at +2 overall. A 74 (+2) on day two closed out his weekend, using a 36 (E) on the back nine to cruise his way to a solid finish.
Baker turned it around on day two, improving by 10 strokes individually. He responded with a 75 (+3), as birdies on holes 4, 7, 11, 13, and 18 helped bring him back into the action. Dorlarque concluded the Logger scoring with an 80 (+8).
While the Loggers are done with the fall season, a final-round 295 (+7) was their best single-day team score of the year. They look to take this momentum into the Spring season, as they continue to improve tournament after tournament.
