Women's Golf Places Fourth at Confluence Classic

| By:
WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The Women's Golf Team rallies back and improves by 20 strokes in round two, finishing 4th at the Confluence Classic.

How it Happened
The Loggers began their weekend at Veterans Memorial Golf Club, a tough park-style course. Kira Goode led the day in round one, starting off strong with a 77 (+5) to lead the Logger scoring. She began her round 1-over through the first 10 holes, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 3rd. A tough stretch in the middle of her round was the only blemish on her scorecard, as Goode closed out her round with six straight pars.

Mia Teramae also started out well, using three straight pars to ease into her round. A birdie on the 11th hole was Teramae's highlight on the back nine, closing her round with an 81 (+9) to post the second-best Logger round of the day. Fellow Freshman, Sydney Ito, put together an 87 (+15) highlighted by a 41 (+5) on the front nine. She pared a third of the holes on the day, playing some consistent golf down the stretch.

Francesca Brinkman got off to a tough start, but played really well in the middle of her round to salvage a round in the 80s. She closed out her front nine two over through her final five holes, shooting a 44 (+8) on the front. Raegan Molander closed out the Logger scoring, shooting a 100 (+28).

In round two, the Loggers traveled to Wine Valley Golf Club, one of the top public golf courses in the state of Washington. The birdies flowed in round two, as three Loggers shot in the 70s to move into 4th place. After a round-one 334 (+46), the Loggers responded with a 314 (+26) on Monday.

Goode led the way once again, this time shooting a 75 (+3). She had a very good round going, using birdies on holes 5, 10, and 17 to shoot even through the first 17 holes. She was two-under on the back nine with a perfect two birdies and six pars through 17, but disaster struck on the 18th after carding a triple-bogey to close out her round. Regardless, Goode still had a fantastic round, and is putting together a solid senior season.

Teramae had her best round of the season as well, shooting a 75 (+3) to match the lowest Logger round of the day. After a birdie on the first hole to open her round, Teramae also found birdies on holes 7, 9, and 10 to shoot 2-under through the middle of her day. She followed that up with four straight pars, sitting at 1-under through 14. A couple of bogeys led to a three-over finish, but the freshman still showed why she cracked a spot in the top-5 Logger golfers this season.

Joining Goode and Teramae in the 70s was Ito, who also birdied her first hole of the day. Despite the birdie, she entered a rough patch on the front to shoot a 43 (+7). This didn't discourage Ito, though, as she put together her best nine holes of the season on the back. A birdie on the 10th hole kicked her off, following it up with birdies on 14 and 15 to shoot a 36 (E) on the back. She snuck into the 70s, carding a 79 (+7) for Puget Sound.

Brinkman and Molander both improved on day two as well, with Brinkman shooting an 85 (+13) at Wine Valley. She also got off to a tough start, but recovered nicely on the back. She started her back nine one-over through her first seven holes, recording six pars during that stretch. Molander rounded out the Logger scoring with a nine-stroke improvement, shooting a 91 (+19) with birdies on holes 6 and 18.

Despite finishing for the fall season, the Loggers have a lot to look forward to in the 2026-27 season. They will be back in the Spring to close out their regular season, with schedule updated yet to come on Loggerathletics.com.
