BOISE, Idaho - - The University of Puget Sound swim teams continue in their strong showing at the 2026 Northwest Conference Championships on Saturday, highlighted by a historic performance from freshman Anderson Bennett. Bennett captured the individual title in the 100 breaststroke, clocking a time of 55.49. His preliminary time of 55.29 set a new conference meet record, shattering the previous mark held since 2016.
The Logger men also found success in the relay events, securing a runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Brandon Tsang, Bennett, Sam Lyon, and Emory Burden touched the wall in 1:33.14 to earn 34 points for Puget Sound. In individual butterfly action,Lyon stayed at the front of the pack, taking third place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.69. He was joined in the "A" final by Liam Tudor, who finished sixth (50.63).
On the women's side, the loggers were led by senior Maddy Brennan, who delivered a stand out second place finish in the 100 butterfly (57.35). Teammate Lelia Ollenburg followed closely in fourth place with a time of 58.42. The women's 200 medley relay team consisting of Harper McGuire, Adi Cosbey-Lewis, Brennan, and Ollenburg, also performed well, placing fifth overall.
The Loggers showed their depth in the distance and medley events as well. Hazel Knight led the way in the 400 individual medley, placing seventh in the final and later returning to take seventh in the 100 breaststroke. For the men, Devin Goetsch earned a fifth-place finish in the 400 individual medley, while Bryce Kirk won the "B" final to take ninth place overall in the same event. In the 200 freestyle, Laleeta Pal secured fifth place for the women (1:58.51), and Gavin Legere represented the men in the "A" final with an eighth-place finish.
