Three Loggers Set School Records at Whitworth Invitational

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Loggers perform well at the Whitworth Invitational, breaking three school records and setting several personal bests. 

How it Happened
Carly Wayss started off the events on Friday in the Women's weight throw, breaking her own school record with a throw of 12.43 meters. The majority of the action continued on Saturday with Ali D'Arcy taking 10th in the Women's Triple Jump with her third and final attempt. She jumped 10.10m, just one meter behind the first-placed finisher. Khai Tong also took 8th in the men's triple jump, leaping to a 11.93m fourth attempt. 

In the track events, Kyrstin Wilson completed her senior indoor campaign with a personal best. She ran a 7.64, beating her pb by 0.11 seconds, and also set a new DIII No.11 time. She also took 10th place in the 200m dash, running a 25.15 to secure a season best and new DIII No. 32 time. 

Emily Moore was next in the Women's mile, racing to a time of 5:20.55 to sneak into the top 10. Lizzie Beiswanger also ran well in the 400m, taking ninth with a time of 57.32. That time was her season's best, and marked a new DIII No. 34 time. In the men's 400m, Avery Keith had a fantastic day. He raced to an impressive time of 48.48, setting a new season best and placing first overall. 

In the men's 800m, Tdohasan Sunray and Porter Freitag both placed in the top 10, with Freitag running a personal best time of 1:59.22. Sunray placed seventh, running a 1:57.38 to finish his indoor season strong. 

The final events of the day was the 4x400m relay, where both Logger teams capped the season with records. The women's team went first, racing to a 4:05.07 to break the indoor school record by over seven seconds. They placed sixth overall. The men's team placed fifth overall with a time of 3:21.28, also breaking the Puget Sound Indoor school record. 

What Happens Next
The Loggers open up their outdoor season on March 6th and 7th as they host the Ed Boitano Invitational.
