TACOMA, Wash. -- The Loggers took a trip across Tacoma for the PLU Invitational, competing very well despite a very wet afternoon.
How it Happened
Kaylee Clark and
Gwen Bundy got the Log rolling in the women's long jump, placing second and third with jumps of 4.60m and 4.42m.
Khai Tong jumped well on the men's side, finishing with a fifth-place jump of 5.96m.
Brogan Murphy followed that up in eighth place, jumping 5.75m to finish in the top-10.
Cody Gardanier got his collegiate career started in the men's high jump, placing first with an impressive 1.82m jump.
For the throws,
Carly Wayss continues to throw well for the Loggers. In the Women's Hammer Throw, Wayss marched her way to second place with a fifth attempt throw of 42.53m. This breaks her personal best that she threw in 2025 by over two feet, and is the third furthest throw in Puget Sound history.
Eva Bebber also threw well, finishing in eighth with a throw of 35.32m.
In the track events,
Emily Moore and
Sarah Gardner kicked the meet off with the Women's 3k Steeplechase. Moore took the victory, running a time of 11:22.12 to secure first place. Gardner wasn't far behind, running a 12:25.45 to place second. On the men's side,
Ian Cook raced his way to a first-place finish, running the event in 9:58.57 to win by nearly a minute.
Oliver Kreimer finished in third with a time of 11:00.08, scoring six points for the Loggers.
The Loggers continued their success in the women's 4x100m relay, as
Gwen Bundy,
Lizzie Beiswanger,
Kaylee Clark, and
Dylan Moore ran their way to second place with a time of 53.68.
As the meet transitioned back to distance racing in the 1500, the Loggers continued to race well.
Samantha Palm and
Bria Metcalf-Lindenburger placed in fifth and sixth, running 5:05.70 and 5:06.34, respectively.
Ella Courtnage-Dyke rounded out the top 10 finishes with an eighth-place run of 5:13.45.
Noah Larsen and
Cian Monaghan also finished in fifth and sixth in the men's 1500, running 4:11.67 and 4:12.60.
Quinn Reublin-Geer had a good race in the Women's 100m Hurdles, placing second with an impressive time of 16.57. The Junior was one of three athletes who ran under 17 seconds, making a statement at the other school in Tacoma.
Dylan Moore followed suit in the Women's 400m, racing her way to second with a time of 1:07.52.
Zachary Slominski championed the 400m on the men's side, zooming around the track in 52.43 to place first.
Clark continued to have a good meet, finishing sixth in the Women's 100m dash, crossing the line at 14:21. Coming off a Northwest Conference Athlete of the Week nod,
Avery Keith found himself in the winners' circle yet again. He ran the Men's 100m in 11.33 seconds, winning the race and securing his second victory in two weeks.
Alana Lim also won her event in the Women's 800m. She crossed the line in 2:29.11 to secure her first victory of the year.
Tdohasan Sunray and
Porter Freitag also ran the 800m, finishing second and third in the men's race. Sunray crossed the line at 1:58.02, and Freitag ran his way to a 1:59.46. The two times were the only two collegiate times under two minutes, as the Loggers continued to make a statement at the PLU Invitational.
Whitney Nelson took control of the Women's 400m Hurdles, winning the event and bouncing back after a sixth-placed finish in the 100m Hurdles. She lapped the Lutes, running a 1:08.77 to place ahead of five straight PLU runners.
Mercer Stauch also won the Men's 400m Hurdles, running a 59.07 for the Loggers.
Keith backed up his victory in the Men's 100m Dash with another win in the Men's 200m. He ran his way to a 22.32, finishing as the only athlete to run a sub-23-second time. This is now his third victory in three events, starting his outdoor season with a bang.
The Loggers capped off their day with the Men's 4x400m relay, finishing in first by a wide margin. The team crossed the finish line with a time of 3:28.00, outpacing the Lutes by 13 seconds.

The Loggers head back to PLU for the Brad Morre Invitational next Friday and Saturday, March 20th-21st.
