Rowe Provides Spark in Loss to River Otters

TACOMA, Wash. - - The Logger men's tennis team showed fight in their latest outing, hosting Lewis & Clark. The team ultimately fell 6-1, but not before showcasing  resilience at the top of the lineup.

How it Happened

The River Otters took the early lead in doubles play. At the No. 1 spot, Jason Rowe and Jackson Stumpf fought through a 6-3 set, while Tyler Blixt and Reef Gelder fell 6-2 at No. 2. The No. 3 duo of Sam Lowery and Vincent Unpingco dropped their set 6-1.

The Loggers found their stride in singles, led by a win from Rowe at the top spot. Rowe claimed the first set 6-4, and after dropping the second 6-3, he rallied to win the third set 6-3 and get the Loggers on the board. At the No. 2 spot, Stumpf showed endurance by winning a first-set tiebreaker, though he eventually fell in a close three-set marathon.

The intensity continued throughout the rest of the lineup. At the No. 4 spot, Gelder forced a second-set tiebreaker following a 6-3 battle. Lowery also put up a strong fight, keeping several rallies close before dropping his sets. Rounding out the afternoon, Unpingco fell 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot, and Blixt lost 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 6 position.

What Happens Next

The Loggers are back on the home courts tomorrow to host George Fox. First serve is scheduled for 11 AM.
