Men's Golf Travels to Oregon For GFU Invitational

| By:
MOLALLA, Ore. -- The Loggers finish the GFU Invite in eighth place, improving on their first round score by five strokes in final tune-up before the Spring Classic.

How it Happened
Andrew Spitzer led the way for the Loggers, sneaking into the top-20 overall with a two-day score of 151 (+9) to place 17th overall. After firing a first-round 75 (+4), he turned around and fired a 76 (+5) on day two in a very consistent outing. He limited the damage on the weekend, finishing with only one double-bogey, and shot a back-nine 35 (-1) to close out the scoring on day two. Michael Baker also played well, shooting a 76 (+5) on day one and a 78 (+7) on day two, joining Spitzer as the two Puget Sound golfers to shoot in the 70s on both days.

After firing a round-one 83 (+12), Charlie Stephens had the best round of the weekend for the Loggers in round two. He was consistent on the front nine, shooting a 36 (+1) to open his day. Two bogeys coming down the stretch saw Stephens finish with a 74 (+3), but it was still a very good day. He improved by a total of nine strokes, giving the sophomore some momentum heading into the Spring Classic.

Cade Streeter and Charlie Reisman rounded out the starting five for the Loggers, finishing strong to help the Loggers improve from round one to round two. Streeter shot an 80 (+9) in round one, improving by a stroke in round two with a 79 (+8) to finish with a 158 (+17) for the weekend. Reisman shot an 81 (+10) in round one, and an 84 (+13) in round two to conclude the scoring five.

Jackson Dorlarque and Zavier Feasey-Allen both competed as individuals for Puget Sound, with Dorlarque shooting a 78 (+7) in round two, matching Baker's round of the day. Feasey-Allen played decently as well, shooting an 80 (+9) in round one and an 82 (+11) in round two.
