Loggers Win Open 4+ in Scrimmage Against Western Washington

| By:
BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The Loggers raced against Western Washington in a dual regatta, taking on the DII squad early Saturday morning.

How it Happened
The Women's Varsity 8+ had a solid race to kick off the day, coming within 11 seconds of the Vikings. They crossed the line at 7:03.54, with Western rowing a 6:52.34. The Women's 2V8+ also had a similar race, rowing a 7:43.77 to the Vikings' 7:34.38. This nine-second gap shows that the Loggers have been putting in the work during practice, making up some time and consistently getting better across the board.

The final three races for the Loggers were the Novice 4+, the Open 4+, and the Varsity 4+. The Loggers picked up the victory in the Open 4+, crossing the line in 8:41.49 and beating the Vikings by 17 seconds. Western got the best of the Loggers in the other two races, though, with the Loggers rowing an 8:11.92 in the Novice 4+, and an 8:36.50 in the Varsity 4+.

What Happens Next
The Loggers head to the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Championship in Vancouver, Wash. on Saturday, April 18th.
