Loggers Make Statement at Wildcat Invite

| By:
ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- The Loggers wrap up the Wildcat Invitational with another big step in the right direction, as a helping wind pushed several Loggers to personal bests.

How it Happened
In the men's 100m dash, Avery Keith raced well to a personal best time of 10.84 seconds. He worked his way to a fifth-place finish, as the fastest DIII competitor in the race. Jack Joyce rounded out the top-10 with a time of 11.07, showing his speed early on in his career. Kyrstin Wilson also raced well in the women's 100m, running an 11.82 to move her up to eighth nationally.

Keith continued his impressive winning streak, winning the men's 200m with an impressive time of 21.65. While a personal best, the time just missed the legal qualifying requirements, as the wind was just too fast at his back. Joyce also ran the 200m, running at 22.49 for the Loggers. In the women's 200m, Wilson won the event as well, crossing the line at 24.74 seconds. As it stands, this time is the 22nd fastest time in DIII, which puts Wilson just inside the qualifying mark for Nationals.

In the 400m, Lizzie Beiswanger ran her way to another victory. She found herself back in the 56 second range, running a 56.85 to blast past a pair of DII competitors. Zachary Slominsky raced his way to a time of 52.42, working his way into fourth place on the men's side. Porter Freitag got his first win of the season in the men's 800m, running a 1:57.21, with Tdohasan Sunray just behind with a time of 1:58.04. Freshman Samantha Palm was the top finisher on the women's side, running a 2:30.22 to place fourth.

Emily Moore joined Sunday in second place in the women's 1500m, running a PB time of 4:53.94. Cian Monaghan won the men's 5k in 15:11.05, and was followed by two Loggers who ran personal best times. Noah Larsen ran a 15:43.26, and David Palmierei ran a 16:46.95 to set individual records for the pair. Palm also notched a PB in the women's 5k, running a 19:06.54 to place third.

For the field events, the star of the show on the men's side was Freshman Brayden Decker in the high jump. He jumped a PB of 1.93m, beating his previous best jump of 1.88m earlier this season. Rosali Patterson also threw well in the women's discus, hitting a mark of 33.97 for the Loggers. Carly Wayss yet again broke the 40m mark in the women's hammer, hitting a mark of 40.20 to place fourth.
