Spitzer Finishes in Seventh As Loggers Place Fourth at Wildcat Invite

| By:
McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- The Loggers continue to improve, placing fourth at the Wildcat invite after a sixth place finish at last week's Spring Classic.

How it Happened
Day 1
Drew Spitzer led the way on the first day of competition, starting out 1-under through his first eight holes. Starting on the back nine, Spitzer made the turn at even par, then rattled off two birdies on holes one and three to get to two under. Two bogeys coming in meant an even par 72, but it set him up well on the individual leaderboard. Cade Streeter was the next to come in, rattling off an impressive 12 pars in a decently clean round. Besides two double-bogeys, Streeter played the other 16 holes at even par, coming in with a score of 76 (+4).

Michael Baker and Charlie Stephens concluded the scoring four golfers, both shooting a 79 (+7) to mark the third straight round of all counting Logger golfers shooting in the 70s. The pair both shot a 38 and a 41 for their nine-hole scores, but shot them on different nines. Baker went 41-38, and Stephens went 38-41.

Jack Kuntz was the final starting golfer in the counting five scores, eagling the par five 11th hole before turning in an 82 (+10). Individually, Charlie Reisman worked his way to a solid round of 74, and Jackson Dorlarque rounded out teh scoring with an 81.

Day 2
All Puget Sound men's golfers shot 80 or under on day two, filling their scorecards with a ton of birdies. Dorlarque had the best round of the day as an individual, turning in a 71 (-1) to jump up 20 spots on the leaderboard. His three-under 34 on the front nine was the best Logger round of the tournament, as he rifled off birdies on holes 2, 4, 5, and 7 in an impressive outing. Streeter also played well, firing a 73 (+1) to finish the tournament at five over par.

Spitzer was the lone Logger that finished in the top-10 individually, shooting a 74 (+2) on day two. He got off to a great start, shooting one-under in his first 10 holes. A couple of bogeys down the stretch saw him shooting two-over, piecing together a 146 (+2) two-day score. Baker bounced back well in day two, getting off to a blazing two-under through six hole start. He finished with a 75 (+3), giving him some momentum heading into the NWC Championships.

Stephens rounded out the scoring for the Loggers, finishing one-under through his final four holes to shoot a 77 (+5). The Loggers were able to hold steady in fourth place, only trailing three nationally ranked teams. Kuntz and Reisman both concluded the Logger rounds, each shooting an 80 (+8).
