PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Loggers competed in a number of different locations, racing well and picking up multiple Personal Bests (PBs) along the way.
How it Happened
Bryan Clay Invitational
Three Loggers made the trip down to California for the Brian Clay invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific, competing against top DI, DII, and DIII talent from teams across the country.
Avery Keith ran in the 400m, placing 19th with a time of 47.60, which marked a season best this year. He now sits tied-19th in the nation, which is just inside the NCAA qualifying mark.
Kyrstin Wilson ran her second sub-12 second 100m dash time of the season, clocking in at 11.92 for the Loggers. While not her season best, she still was able to consistently stay under the 12 second mark. She followed her 22nd place run in the 100m with a 34th placed finish in the 200m. Her time of 24.74 exactly matched her best time of the season, but fell just shy of the NCAA qualifying mark.
Lizzie Beiswanger wrapped up the Logger runners in the 400m, running a season-best 56.32, which is currently the 20th best time in DIII.
Larry Byerly Invitational
The rest of the team headed down to Portland for the Larry Byerly invitational with a number of Loggers securing top-10 finishes.
Whitney Nelson got the Log rolling in the women's 100m hurdles, crossing the line at 16.06 to place eighth for Puget Sound. She notched another great time in the 400m hurdles, running a PB time of 1:05.58 to place third.
Jack Joyce continued to run well in his freshman campaign, placing sixth in the men's 400m. He broke the 50-second mark for the first time in his career, running a 49.99 to secure a PB.
Mercer Stauch followed Nelson in the 400m hurdles, running a time of 57.31 to sneak into the top-10 on the men's side. Keeping on the PB train,
Gabriel Velazquez ran a personal best time of 2:01.10 in the men's 800m.
David Palmieri also ran a personal best time of 16:36.00 in the 5k, and
Thomas Goeglein threw his career-best mark in the men's shot put. Goeglein made it to the 15m mark, throwing the shot put 15.01m to place fifth for the Loggers.
Eva Bebber placed eighth in the women's discus, throwing a PB of 35.86, with
Carly Wayss throwing a 44.79m mark in the hammer to place third overall.
Cody Gardanier jumped a 1.92m mark in the high jump, marking a season-best for the freshman. The men;s 4x100m relay team capped off the day with a ninth-place finish, running around the track in 43.22 seconds.

The Loggers head to Whitworth for the Northwest Conference Championships April 25th and 26th.
