LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- Women's Golf finishes in seventh place at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic at Oakbrook Golf Club, improving by 11 strokes on day two.
How it Happened
Day 1
Kira Goode led the way for Puget Sound in round one, putting together a decent round for the Loggers. She started her round with three straight pars, and picked up a birdie on the par-five 14th en route to an 81 (+9). Francesca Brinkman also played well, shooting an 84 (+12). Brinkman got into a groove on the front nine, finishing two over through her final six holes to make the turn in 41 (+5).Â
Cayton Smith was the final Logger to break 90 on the day, bouncing back on the back nine to close out her day with an 89 (+17). She played the last four holes in one-over par, marking a solid finish for the Junior. Elise Munding was the final scoring Logger for the day, coming in with a final score of 93 (+21). Abigail Udlock rounded out the scores for the day, firing a 98 (+26) to help the Loggers to a seventh-placed finish after round one.Â
Day 2
The Loggers found more success in round two, as Goode led the Logger scoring yet again. Her birdie on the par-three 13th was the highlight of the day, as Goode started her day one over through her first five holes. She finished in 18th individually, capping off a solid weekend. Smith improved on her day-one score by six stokes in the final round, shooting a team-low 40 on the front nine. After starting on hole 12, Smith cruised to a solid finish to shoot an 83 (+11).Â
Brinkman followed up her day-one 84 (+12) with an identical score in round two, picking up birdies on holes four and nine to close her day one over in her final seven holes. This was one of the sophomores' best two-day scores of the season, showing out for the home crowd at Oakbrook. Munding also broke 90 in the final round, working her way to an 87 (+15) to give the Loggers four scores under 90 in the counting rounds. Udlock matched her day-one score of 98 (+26) in round two, picking up a highlight birdie on the par-five ninth.Â
The Loggers finish the tournament in seventh, one stroke back of a sixth-place finish.Â

The Loggers head to the Wildcat Invite next Sunday and Monday, April 12th and 13.
