CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A pair of Loggers competed in Oregon this weekend, with
Kyrstin Wilson competing at the OSU High Performance Meet, and
Whitney Nelson in the Linfeild Open.
Wilson kicked off her weekend in the Women's 200m, setting a new school record time of 24.37. Her time was fast enough that it is now the No. 20 time in the nation. After previously being outside the national qualifying top-22 positions in the 200m, if the season ended today, Wilson would be in. Wilson also ran an 11.94 in the women's 100m dash, which was 0.12 off her season best. She currently sits in 16th in the 100m, and looks to improve her time in the coming weeks. She capped her weekend by placing second in the 200m and third in the 100m with some tough competition.
Whitney Nelson ran in the women's 400m hurdles at the Linfield Open, placing second with a time of 1:05.03. After a near two-second PR in the event last week at the Northwest Conference Championships, Nelson is now close to an NCAA-qualifying time.
