EUGENE, Ore. -- Three Loggers concluded their season at the Oregon Twilight, throwing at the historic Hayward Field, with three more traveling down to Los Angeles for the APU Franson Last Chance Meet.
Oregon Twilight
Thomas Goeglein threw in both the Men's Discus and the Men's Shot Put, as the sophomore capped off the season with a top-10 finish in the shot put. He threw a 13.41m mark in the shot put, and a 40.87 in the discus.
Carly Wayss and
Eva Bebber both threw in the Women's Discus and Women's Hammer Throw. Wayss finished her season in eighth in the discus with a mark of 33.50m, and 10th in hammer throw with a mark of 42.63m. Bebber finished ninth in the discus with a 32.77m throw, and a 30.83m throw in the hammer to finish 12th.
APU Franson Last Chance
Kyrstin Wilson continued to run well in the Franson Last Chance, placing first in the prelims with a time of 11.71 seconds in the 100m dash. This marks her best race of the entire season, breaking her own school record and etching her spot atop the Puget Sound record books. She ran a 12.02 in the final to place 3rd at the meet, but her prelim time was good enough to place 10th in the nation. In the 200m, she ran a 24.63, three tenths of a second off her Personal Best.
Avery Keith also ran a personal best in the men's 400m, improving on his time from the Northwest Conference Championships by 0.05 seconds. He ran a 47.06, placing fifth in the meet, and is now up to 10th nationally.
Whitney Nelson capped off her season, running a 1:03.78 in the women's 400 hurdles - her second-best time in her career.
Wilson and Keith are in a good position to make the NCAA Championships, and will await the end of the season results from around the nation.
