NEWBERG, Ore. -- The Women's Tennis team competed in the ITA Regional Championships, finishing their short Fall season with a couple of solid individual performances. 

How it Happened
Madeleine Hendricks opened up her freshman campaign well, pulling off an upset in the first round of the Flight A Singles draw. She took down Avery Phillips of George Fox 6-3, 5-7, 7(8)-6(6), advancing to the round of 16. Bean Lowe played well in the B Main Draw, taking down Pacific's Morgan Wagoner 6-2, 6-0 in the round of 32. 

Meredith Freiss and Nicole Wilson were the stars of the B Main Draw, both reaching the quarterfinals. Freiss beat Linfield's Lyla Khlee 6-2, 6-3, and pulled off the upset against Lewis & Clark's Madison Vianzon 7-5, 6-4, but dropped her match in the quarters to end her run. Wilson took down Lewis & Clark's Gabrielle Garcia 6-0, 6-1, and Linfield's Gianna Molony 6-2, 6-1 in the round of 16.

Megan Smith showed off her talents in her first competition as a Logger, sweeping her first match over Linfield's Sophia Benke 6-0, 6-0. She followed that up with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Pacific's Jillian Hom, but followed the same path as Freiss and Wilson with a loss in the quarters. 

In the Flight B Consolation bracket, two Loggers made it all the way to the final. Pearl Buck and Hanna Welt dominated their matches across the board, both advancing to the championship match. Buck took the title in a shortened match, 4-1, 4-2. 

The doubles duo of Isabelle Bourgeau and Hendricks won their first doubles match of the tournament in the Main Draw, taking down Lewis & Clark's Alexandra Mignogna and Cloe Alcorn 8-6. They were taken down by the No. 5-seeded pair from George Fox in the round of 16, though, ending their run in the main draw. 

The Loggers dominated the consolation bracket, though, as four pairs reached the quarterfinals. Welt and Ginger Parker paired up, winning their first match 8-2, before dropping their match to Smith and Wilson 8-4 in the quarters. The latter duo made it all the way to the championship match, beating out the No. 4-seeded team from Linfield in the semifinals along the way. Lowe and English played well to get to the quarters, taking down a team from Fox 8-2. Their run ended in the quarterfinals, though, dropping their match to Willamettes' Reese Beyrouty and Eva Leif 8-3. 

The stars of the show were Buck and Kaylee Yamada, as the pair played really well following a loss in the Main draw. They won their consolation round-of-16 match 8-1, and battled tough against GFU's Avery Phillips and Audrey Gardner to win their quarterfinal match 9-7. They responded with an easy 8-3 win in the semis, and then took down Wilson and Smith 8-4 in the final to secure the consolation victory. 

What Happens Next
The Loggers are done for the season, but will pick back up in February for the start of their regular season.
