Named after the University's 13th President, the Ron Thomas Team Spirit Award reflects his enthusiasm for Logger Athletics. From 2003 to 2016, President Thomas attended countless Logger games and events. His campus-wide "One Of A Kind" campaign led to the construction of the Athletics & Aquatics Center. The Ron Thomas Team Spirit Award was dedicated in his honor in 2017.
