Baseball doubleheader canceled due to snow

LACEY, Wash.—Sunday's season-opening doubleheader between the University of Puget Sound and Saint Martin's has been cancelled due to snowfall in the Lacey area, according to Logger head coach Brian Billings.

The games, slated for 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., would have been both teams' first contests of the 2014 season.  Weather also shuttered a single game scheduled for Feb. 8 between the two schools as well.

Sunday's slate of two games will be rescheduled at a later date.

Puget Sound baseball's new season-opener will be Friday, Feb. 14 when they take on Hendrix in Frisco, Texas. That game kicks off a three-game weekend in Frisco as the Loggers will also face Texas-Dallas and Hardin-Simmons in the Lone Star state. All three games will take place in Dr. Pepper Ballpark, home of the minor league AA Frisco RoughRiders.
