TACOMA, Washington – The Northwest Conference's highest scoring offense hosts a non-conference doubleheader against Swarthmore, Wednesday, March 14, starting at 12 p.m.

The Loggers average 7.8 runs per game, which leads the NWC. After scoring 130 runs in 38 games last year, the Loggers have already plated 117 runs in 15 games this year. Puget Sound's .293 batting average ranks third in the NWC, its .407 on-base percentage is second, and its .390 slugging percentage is the second-highest mark.

A slugger like none other

Nick Ultsch's .725 slugging percentage leads the NWC by .070 points. He has three home runs, three doubles, and two triples in 40 at-bats this season.


By any means

Freshman second baseman Kyle Strash is getting on base at a .510 clip, which is the second-best mark in the NWC. He has 15 hits and nine walks in 39 at-bats.


Scouting Swarthmore (6-1)

The Garnet is an NCAA D-III athletics program out of Pennsylvania, and a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Swarthmore is on a West Coast swing that started with three games at Lewis & Clark. The Garnet took two out of three games against the Pioneers. Swarthmore plays two games at Whitman Tuesday, before coming to Tacoma. Their trip ends at Willamette, March 17. The Garnet are hitting .283 as a team, and hold a 3.21 team ERA.
