TACOMA, Washington – Mason Quinlan came through in the clutch again, and the junior first baseman was named both the Northwest Conference Position Student-Athlete of the Week and the Logger Club Logger of the Week.
Quinlan belted a two-run home in the bottom of the eighth inning against Linfield Sunday (March 31), giving the Loggers a 6-5 victory and sealing the program's first three-game sweep against the Wildcats since the 2007 season.
Overall during the weekend, Quinlan hit 7-for-13 (.538) with four RBI and three runs scored. He currently leads the team in hitting (.385) and slugging (.549).
With an 8-7 NWC record, the Loggers are well within playoff contention. Puget Sound is on the road this weekend for a three-game series at Whitworth, April 6-7.
