A return to Cheney
The Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A, Seattle Mariners) and Puget Sound host Pacific Lutheran for a non-conference game at Cheney Stadium, May 1. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
May the 4th be with you
The 2019 Puget Sound season comes to a head at home, May 4. The Loggers host both Whitman and Whitworth non-conference games. The Blues and Pirates will also go head-to-head with each other on Logger Field.
Strength in starters
Puget Sound's three starting pitchers against Whitman last week (April 13-14) put up identical numbers: 6.0 innings pitched, one earned run. However, Davis Miller, Tyler Huling, and Michael Warnick fell victim to unearned runs – eight of them in all during the series.
Griesy steaks
Jack Gries is tied for the fourth in the NWC with 27 RBI. He is also eighth in runs scored (27), and eighth in stolen bases (8).
By any means
After leading the NWC in on-base percentage (.524) as a rookie last year, sophomore Kyle Strash currently ranks fourth in the NWC with a .482 on-base percentage.
Scouting Pacific (20-16, 12-9 NWC)

The pitching staff's 4.15 ERA is the second best in the NWC, and it is tops in the NWC with 70 steals.
