TACOMA, Washington – Four members of the Puget Sound baseball team received All-Northwest Conference honors, the conference announced Monday.
Gries, a senior left fielder, received his second consecutive All-NWC Second Team honor. He currently ranks sixth in the NWC for doubles (12), and he leads the Loggers in RBI (28), home runs (4), and steals (8).
Quinlan, a junior baseman, ranks seventh in the NWC for batting average (.355), and he leads Puget Sound in slugging (.476). One of Quinlan's more memorable hits was a walk-off base knock against Pacific Lutheran (March 10).
Strash, a sophomore second baseman, was the NWC Freshman of the Year in 2018. He continued to demonstrate an uncanny ability to reach base, as his .461 on-base percentage currently ranks fourth in the NWC. Strash's 29 runs scored is 10th in the NWC.
Starting pitcher Tyler Huling saved his best for conference foes, as he posted a 3.48 ERA through 41.1 innings in NWC games.
Puget Sound hosts Pacific Lutheran at Cheney Stadium Wednesday, May 1, at 6 p.m.
