Puget Sound crew set to race in Seattle

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound boats are back to racing when the Loggers compete in the Husky Open in Seattle, March 30, at 8 a.m.

Home sweet home

The Logger men and women dominated their most recent regatta – the Puget Sound Invitational (March 16). The Puget Sound women's varsity-eight won two races, and the men's varsity-eight was also victorious. he MV8 crossed the finish line in 6:47.5, nearly three seconds ahead of Lewis & Clark and 17 seconds ahead of Pacific Lutheran. The WV8 beat Pacific and Lewis & Clark in separate duals. Against the Boxers, the Loggers timed in at 7:14.5, more than one minute ahead of Pacific. The second time around, Loggers improved their time by one second against Lewis & Clark, beating the Pioneers by 45 seconds.


Husky Open, one year ago

The Logger women's third-varsity eight received medals in the 2018 Husky Open. The WV8 placed second in its race (7:15.837), placing just two seconds behind the University of Portland, and nearly 18 seconds ahead of a boat from Seattle University. In men's races, Puget Sound's MV8 was third with a time of 6:44.971.


Looking ahead

Puget Sound races in the Covered Bridge Regatta, April 6, in Lowell, Oregon. The following day is the Meyer/Lamberth Cup.
