TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound men's crew sets out to defend the Rainier Cup, and the Logger women race to recapture the conference title during the NWC Championship Saturday, April 20, in Vancouver, Washington.
The Logger men won the Rainier Cup in dominant fashion in 2018. The MV8 beat Pacific Lutheran by more than 30 seconds, and the Loggers topped Lewis & Clark by nearly 40 seconds.
Two weeks ago, the Puget Sound men won the Meyer Cup in head-to-head races against Pacific Lutheran. The Puget Sound MV8 beat Pacific Lutheran by more than four seconds, timing in at 6:34.60. The MV4 was victorious by nearly five seconds, as it crossed the finish line in 7:17.90.
The Logger women lost Lamberth Cup races against Pacific Lutheran boats two weeks ago. Puget Sound aims to upset a Lutes program that has won the NWC title three years in-a-row.
