TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound linebacker Dwight Jackson is the Northwest Conference's lone nominee for the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Allstate Good Works Team, the AFCA announced this week.
Established in 1992, the Good Works Team is an "annual award given to college football players for the impact they make off the field." Jackson, a native of Stockton, Calif., has been nominated for the third consecutive year.
During the 2018-19 year, Jackson served as co-President of Puget Sound's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He helped lead Logger student-athletes in community initiatives such as the Trick-or-Can Food Drive, Special Olympics Field Day, Habitat for Humanity, and the Tacoma City Marathon.
Jackson was also a catalyst in the football team's school supply drive for local students, and he oversaw the team's involvement with the Bryant Montessori Recess Program.
