TACOMA, Washington – Fifteen receptions for 142 yards earned Puget Sound wide receiver AJ Johnson the Logger Club Logger of the Week nod.
Johnson's big performance in the Loggers' 24-23 overtime win over George Fox (Oct. 5) marks the third time this season he has at least 14 catches and 140 receiving yards in a game.
The Tacoma native's 14th catch against the Bruins set up Alex Everett's game-tying field goal to send the contest into overtime. Johnson's final reception of the game got the Loggers down to the one-yard line in overtime, setting up Silas Washington's second rushing touchdown of the game.
Johnson has 50 receptions this season, which far and away leads the Northwest Conference. The next closest receiver has 23 receptions. Johnson is a D3football.com Preseason All-American.
Puget Sound is on the road to take on No. 23 Linfield Saturday, Oct. 12, for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
